I have been doing this Christmas book countdown for several years and my oldest has always loved it. Now that he is almost 6 though, he knows all the books. Which is fine! I still have my 3 year old and 10 month old!
But I gotta be honest, I'm tired of wrapping them. It takes FOREVER to wrap 24 books.
This year I came up with a solution that I think is still fun and is going to save me a lot of time over the next several years that we continue to do this tradition.
I've made tags for all our books that will fit in this super cute advent calendar from Target!
There are 3 different templates. You can make a copy of any of them and edit to your liking!
I printed off the tags on cardstock and laminated them because my kids are rough on stuff and I want them to last for at least 6 more years! I also added a bit of ribbon to the top that are color coded so we know whose turn it is to pick it out. With three kids wanting to take turns pulling out the cards for the books it's easier to color code them so we don't forget who went last!

I know it's expensive to buy a bunch of books for Christmas which is why I've linked read alouds on youtube for all of these books. All you need is cardstock to print them out and you can pull up 1 book a night for the Christmas Countdown!
