If you have little kids, this makes the CUTEST Christmas card!
I think I may do this every year!
Here is what you need:
It fits my oldest, who is 4' tall. and it already comes with a bar in the top for hanging your wardrobe. I used it to hang ornaments! They also have a taller one if you have older kids or want to get in on these cute pictures yourself! Make sure you have a box cutter, scissors, and clear packaging tape for assembling it!
I used clear nylon string to hang red ornaments.
Then covered the metal bar with some garland and fairy lights.
I stole the mini Christmas tree from my console table and strung it with fairy lights as well.
I went upstairs where the background was white and I had ample lighting from the windows in the loft. I did this when the sun was over my house. You want enough light to brighten their faces, but not too harsh that it washes them out.
I stacked our foamnasium blocksy/play couch but you could also put this on top of a coffee table.
I did throw a sheet over the blocksy to try to keep everything in the background of the box the same color.
You want to make sure the box edges are as straight and even as possible.
I had a few different props for the kids to use.
A book with a puck light inside it.
A large red ornament.
Soft candy cane garland.
A red scarf.
I used a tripod and set it to the height of the middle of the box.
You want to get the box straight on, as square (rectangle) as possible.
This will make editing easier.
On your phone or camera, set your resolution or aspect ration just slightly higher than the size you want your photos or Christmas card to be.
I also take note of exactly how I edited my first photo and then make sure my brightness/contrast/saturation etc are all the same so that the photos are uniform.
Be sure to get your kids looking in directions that will be fun to put together in a grid. I had my boys look at spots on the edge of the box and put my daughter in the middle and it is so stinking cute!
Are you going to try this? Let me know in the comments or if you have any questions!
